Uncharted 4 Lead Animator Puts On Drake Suit “One Last Time”

Uncharted 4

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is just months away from release now, but it looks like some finishing touches are still being applied to get the game just right. Naughty Dog’s lead animator, Jeremy Yates, posted an image on Twitter signifying that things are officially coming to an end for the Uncharted series.
Jeremy Yates posted an image of himself on Twitter, with a caption that reads, “Donning the Drake suit just ONE LAST TIME. #Uncharted4.” Even though the game has suffered many delays and seems to keep getting farther and farther away from release, seeing an image like this really makes it feel like it’s finally almost here.
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is set three years after the events of Drake’s Deception, with Nathan Drake coming out of treasure hunting retirement. These events transpired when his brother, Sam, suddenly comes back into his life after years of being assumed dead. Of course, lots of treasure is on the agenda for the two men.
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is developed by Naughty Dog exclusively for the PlayStation 4 and will launch on April 26.

Laura Bailey Clarifies Controversy Over Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End Casting

Voice actress, Laura Bailey, has posted on Twitter clarifying how she got cast to play Nadine Ross  in Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. Some people thought her being cast was inappropriate since the character is black while she is white.
Bailey’s explanation is quite long, but she reveals that she was cast before Naughty Dog designed the actual character. All they knew about the character early on what that she is South African.
Bailey said: “I think more than anything, I just want to clear up how the casting happened. I went in person to audition for the role of Nadine. The character breakdown I received had no picture or physical description at all. The reason for the being, there was no character design yet. Nadine was described as a strong willed, intelligent, powerful woman with a south african dialect. So I trained with my dialect coach multiple times before the audition. I obsessed over the scenes in my head. I went and auditioned alongside several other actresses of several different ethnicities. I was incredible nervous.”

She then explains it would have been rude if Naughty Dog changed the design of Nadine Ross when she got cast: “It wasn’t until we had rehearsed and arrived for our first day of filming that I saw the concept art for Nadine. One of the very talented artists at Naughty Dog had come up with a beautiful design for her, and it happened to look… very different than me. And that was difficult. Not because it changed anything about my performance. Nadine was the same woman. She had the same background, the same personality, the same strength. But suddenly, because she had a different skin color than I did, there was a chance some would deem my portrayal unacceptable.
But at that point, what’s worse? Choose that beautiful design the artist created knowing there could be backlash because they had already cast a non-black actress? Or change the design entirely out of fear and lose the opportunity to have a strong character of color in the game? I guess I don’t know if there’s a right answer to that. All I can say is, I think she’s one of the most badass people I’ve ever had the honor to play and I’m so proud to have worked on Uncharted 4.”

If anybody is kind of at fault here, it might be Naughty Dog. They should have designed Nadine Ross first before casting who would be the voice actress for her. Bailey has been put in a tough spot being blamed for whitewashing the game.
The game’s director, Neil Druckmann, also stated a few months ago that a black voice actor is playing a white character in Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.

The long-awaited beta for Uncharted 4’s multiplayer has just started.

The long-awaited beta for Uncharted 4’s multiplayer has just started. Pleasing fans of the series with all the features they’ve come to expect from the franchise, the beta also sheds light on a few new tricks.

Players start out with one of six different loadouts, such as assault, tactical, or close range. Teams are broken up into groups of five and compete in twelve-minute deathmatches, gaining experience points to level up along the way. During each match players also earn in-game cash to purchase heavy weapons, upgrades, AI controlled “buddies,” and special abilities call “mysticals.”
Once players have earned enough experience points, they unlock the ability to create customized loadouts. Like most shooters, these allow players to mix and match weapons based on their skill sets and preferences.

If the beta is any indication, Uncharted 4 is shaping up to be one of the best games of 2016. The multiplayer combines the amazing graphics and tight action from the solo game with rich, action-packed, arcadey combat.

‘Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End’ Likely to Feature the Demise of Nathan Drake, Hints Naughty Dog Creative Director!

If the title of the open-world action adventure third-person shooter video game “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” is any indication, protagonist Nathan Drake would likely meet his demise in the fourth and final iteration of the video game franchise.

The death of Nathan Drake in the upcoming video game “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” was actually hinted by Naughty Dog creative director Neil Druckmann in a recent interview when he said that the best way for the series to end is to honor the protagonist where he shall go out on top and finish his story.
Over the past three games in the series, Nathan Drake has proven himself to be a hard man to kill. However, despite overcoming a lot of death-defying adventures in the past, Nathan Drake is still a mortal man.
While Neil Druckmann did not say directly that Nathan Drake will die in “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End,” he did say that it is very remote for publisher Sony to bring back the video game title in the future following the end of the upcoming game.

Not bothered in killing off characters
Given the strong feeling of permanence in Druckmann’s statements, it only suggests that “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” will take a turn for the worse, details iDigital Times.
Many gamers and critics believe that it does not make sense for Naughty Dog to kill off such a beloved character. However, Naughty Dog has killed off major characters three times in one of its popular video games “The Last of Us.”
While none of those characters were main protagonists in “The Last of Us,” it nonetheless showed that Naughty Dog is not afraid to take storytelling risks that will surprise its fans.
Druckmann also sort of confirmed the death of Nathan Drake when he was also quoted as saying that when all is said and done, “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” is truly the end of Nathan Drake.
However, he opened the possibility of a prequel but then the protagonist should be a different character. He reiterated that “Uncharted 4” will definitely end for Nathan Drake.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End: End of Nathan’s Story, Bugs Fixed, News, Updates

In less than 3 months, the last installment in the Uncharted series, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End will be released, and recently, it was Naughty Dog Lead Programmer himself who updated fans that he found small bugs in his recent tests.

In a couple of Twitter updates, Naughty Dog Lead Programmer Christian Gyrling himself who revealed that he’s currently fixing bugs in the upcoming Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and that even he’s amazed at the kinds of bugs he’s been encountering.

The good news is that at the very least, we know that Naughty Dog is doing their darnest to release Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End with as little bugs as possible.
It has been almost a decade since the first Uncharted was released, and they have been great times we shared with Nathan Drake. With Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, Naughty Dog confirmed that this will be the last installment in Nathan Drake’s story.

It was Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End Writer and Director Neil Druckmann himself who confirmed the news in his interview with EuroGamer, saying, “We've been with this character for so long... He's at the height of his popularity, so it's not a good business decision, but I feel like the best way to honour him is to go out on top, to finish his story.”

“Whether that's it for Uncharted? I don't know. At the end of the day Sony owns Uncharted and they can do whatever they want. But with the end of this story it will be really hard to do a sequel with Nathan Drake. Maybe there'll be a prequel, maybe it will be a different character - I don't know. But this is the end for Nathan Drake,” Druckmann continued.
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End will be released by Naughty Dog on April 26, 2016 for the PlayStation 4.
