This guide is for showing you how to get some exclusive Medal of Honor unlocks, 20% off Battlefield Bad Company 2, and how to get the M1911 Pistol for Battlefield 3 on DAY ONE (Launch day, October 25th, 2011).
There are two ways to get this weapon unlock.
1.) Be a Battlefield Veteran
2.) Sign up for the Gun Club (That's what im showing you here today)
To get this is actually quite simple, and is highly recommended that you do so, as to obtain further unlocks from the Gun Club.
Go to gunclub.ea.com
Sign in with your EA/origin Account
You're done. See wasn't that simple?
By doing this, not only do you get the M1911 pistol to use on day one of Battlefield 3, under the My Gun Club tab in the Nav bar, if you click rewards, depending on your past EA game experience, you'll also get a host of other things, for other EA shooters such as BFBC2, BFBC, MOH, etc.
You will also get to use it right now in the Beta. Both versions, silencer and unsilenced.

I read the little peice of paper that came with the game and it said that after you sign in with your EA/Origin account, you would have to restart your Battlefield 3 game and then you will get the gun. What does it mean by restart? If it means restart as in quit the game and go back in, it didn't work because I tried that and I didn't get the gun. Help?
I called EA tech support and helped me unlock. They said it may take a while or a few levels but I still don't see the gun.
Im in the same boat as you guys I signed up twice for the gun club and nothing happened I have the badge but no gun in the game... I also restarted my Playstation both ways and still nothing I would love you use that gun in the game!
Might be a bug or was only available for a certain amount of time. Your only way to get now is to find an old bf game you own and get good at it.
I just got the pistol today.
Got it yesterday......finally. Great handgun. Bfor the 1911 I wuz sweet on the G18 but for obvious reasons the 1911 is now my favorite. U don't even have to unlock the hush puppy periphial........it comes with!
Just relog on Battlelog and you get your guns.
How did you get it eventually? Cuz i also signed up on origin, but i still don't have it. did you just wait some time and the got it or did you get the old battlefields and become a veteran?
